Start Where You Are
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. - Arthur Ashe
This sentiment can be applied to so many areas of life, and I could get quite deep about all the ways it’s resonated with me, but for now I’d like to talk about pizza.
Mmm. Pizza...
Most recently “use what you have, do what you can...” related to the enhancement of a plain, inexpensive frozen pizza.
Josh and I often take an old, freezer-burned pizza and cover it with a bunch of random stuff from the fridge.
This is a practical way to use up leftovers, and it’s a great toddler activity too, as adding toppings is a simple way to give kids ownership of their food, and makes them more excited to eat it.
Our makeshift efforts made a super-boring frozen pizza into something much more palatable, and we didn’t break the bank to acquire it! It’s financial minimalism at its best.
How have you “used what you have” lately?
